What information we collect, use, and why

When you purchase an item through the Online Shop you’ll be asked to give your name, shipping address and email address. This information is required before your order can be processed and delivery arranged to your chosen postal address.

When you sign up to the Jeanette Sloan newsletter through either the pop-up form or the Stay In Touch page you’ll be asked for your name and email address. These details are captured via the Mailchimp platform and will be used to provide you with email updates. Signing up to my newsletter in this way means you consent to such information being used for the purposes of receiving email updates about Jeanette Sloan.

When you apply to become a Test & Sample Knitter you’ll be asked to complete a Google form which requires your name, email address, country of residence, Ravelry user name and Instagram account details along with details of your knitting experience and past projects. In the event that you do become a Jeanette Sloan Test & Sample Knitter your participation in the test / sample knitting processes will require you to provide feedback on the pattern being tested / knitted. In addition you’ll be asked to supply images of these test / sample knits which will be used to promote the design when the pattern is released. This may include, but is not limited to, the published leaflet and any or all of the Jeanette Sloan social media platforms.

Whether you purchase through the Online Shop, sign up to the my newsletter or apply to become a Test & Sample Knitter, the personal information comes directly from you.

How long we keep information

When purchasing through the Online Shop customer information is only stored for as long as is necessary to process and ship your order.

When signing up to the Jeanette Sloan newsletter your information will continue to be stored and used for as long as you wish to remain on my mailing list. You can ask to have your details deleted at any time. To do this simply click the Unsubscribe button in the footer of the most recent newsletter.

When signing up for Test & Sample Knitting your information will continue to be stored and used for as long as you wish to remain on the Jeanette Sloan Test & Sample Knitting list. You can ask to have your details deleted at any time. To do this simply email [email protected].

Who we share information with

PayPal processes all online payments made through the Jeanette Sloan website while Royal Mail is used for shipping all UK & International orders.

Mailchimp is the platform used for sending out all Jeanette Sloan newsletters.

Google hosts the application form for Test & Sample Knitting.
